Size?Dependent Catalytic Behavior of Gold Nanoparticles

چکیده

Gold nanoparticles (AuNP) are widely used for reaction catalysis. The common understanding is that the smaller particles, more reactive they are. It reported here this not always case citrate (Ct) or polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) stabilized AuNP in catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol with sodium borohydride (NaBH4), when total surface area kept constant. results prove size range 10–58 nm, reactivity increases increasing particle diameter investigated model reaction. trend activity independent conjugated ligands and PVP ligands. Purely based on resulting area, unexpected. Only a detailed structural investigation revealed internal structure parameters like defect tendency also play strong role. Larger possess defects between crystalline domains. Further, influence ligand density diffusion effect reactants excluded nitrophenol reduction.

Coalescence Behavior of Gold Nanoparticles

The tetraoctylammonium bromide (TOAB)-stabilized gold nanoparticles have been successfully fabricated. After an annealing of the as-synthesized nanoparticles at 300 degrees C for 30 min, the coalescence behavior of gold nanoparticles has been investigated using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy in detail. Two types of coalescence, one being an ordered combination of two or more p...

Synthesis and Investigation the Catalytic Behavior of Cr2O3 Nanoparticles

The use of an inorganic phase in water-in-oil (w/o) microemulsion has recently received considerable attention for preparing metal oxide nanoparticles. This is a technique, which allows preparation of ultrafine metal oxide nanoparticles within the size range 40 to 80 nm. Preparation of nano chromium (III) oxide studied investigated in the inverse microemulsion system. Therefore the nucleation o...

Aptamer-based colorimetric biosensing of abrin using catalytic gold nanoparticles.

In this study we propose a simple and sensitive colorimetric aptasensor for the quantitative analysis of abrin by using catalytic AuNPs for the first time. AuNPs possess the peroxidase-like activity that can catalyse 3,3,5,5-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) in the presence of H2O2, leading to color change of the solution. It is interesting to find that the peroxidase-like activity of AuNPs can be imp...

Enhanced DNA sensing via catalytic aggregation of gold nanoparticles.

A catalytic colorimetric detection scheme that incorporates a DNA-based hybridization chain reaction into gold nanoparticles was designed and tested. While direct aggregation forms an inter-particle linkage from only one target DNA strand, catalytic aggregation forms multiple linkages from a single target DNA strand. Gold nanoparticles were functionalized with thiol-modified DNA strands capable...

Gold−Copper Nanoparticles: Nanostructural Evolution and Bifunctional Catalytic Sites

Understanding of the atomic-scale structure is essential for exploiting the unique catalytic properties of any nanoalloy catalyst. This report describes novel findings of an investigation of the nanoscale alloying of gold−copper (AuCu) nanoparticles and its impact on the surface catalytic functions. Two pathways have been explored for the formation of AuCu nanoparticles of different composition...
